See cumulative instalment targets after expected credits and earlier payments.
Inputs and definitions
Annual tax liability already computed for the selected ROR/RNOR/NR status, eligible Indian TDS/TCS, advance tax already paid and the applicable regular or presumptive schedule.
Method and formula
Apply the supported exemption and schedule to the net annual liability. The regular schedule uses cumulative 15%, 45%, 75% and 100% targets. Subtract tax already paid from each target; do not add cumulative shortfalls. The resident senior no-business exemption includes RNOR and excludes NR.
Illustrative example
For ₹1 lakh net annual advance tax, the September cumulative target is ₹45,000. If ₹15,000 is already paid, the additional amount to reach that target is ₹30,000.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you use the result.
Can advance tax apply to an individual or sole proprietor?
Yes. It is not limited to companies. It generally applies where estimated tax payable after eligible TDS/TCS is ₹10,000 or more, subject to exemptions. A resident individual aged 60 or more without business/professional income has a specific exemption; age alone does not exempt a non-resident or a senior with business income.
Should I add 15%, 45%, 75% and 100%?
No. These regular-schedule percentages are cumulative targets for successive instalments. Subtract eligible payments already made from the relevant target; adding the percentages or cumulative shortfalls double-counts the requirement.
Is the presumptive schedule available to every small business?
No. It depends on the applicable presumptive provisions and eligibility. The supported eligible presumptive route generally targets the entire advance tax by 15 March. Check the selected year, scheme and any applicable relief separately.

Scope and limitations
Enter an annual liability already computed for the selected ROR, RNOR or NR status. Select the applicable regular or presumptive schedule. The resident senior exemption requires no business income and does not apply to NR. Displayed shortfalls are cumulative; do not add them together.
These examples explain the method. The interactive result depends on the selected facts and period, and is not a filing or an eligibility confirmation.
